Job Description:

                                                                Structural/Rack Engineer

Our client is an innovative global leader in the supply chain automation industry. For over 70 years, this $1B company has specialized in the design, manufacture, installation and support of integrated systems for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution. This front running company is currently interviewing qualified individuals for a Structural/Rack Engineer​.

The Structural/Rack Engineer will be responsible for rack application and system design along with integrating rack modules for use with complex systems involving mechanical equipment, electrical controls hardware and software.  In this role this person will have strong fundamental knowledge of structural analysis and steel design, a structural engineering background, including experience on rack design including ASRS application.

Duties include developing complex material specifications, schematic/drawings preparation, appropriate follow-up, recommendations for productivity, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction improvements. An ideal candidate will guide complex technical interchange and have knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.

Qualifications:


  • B.S. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or advanced degree is required (Structural emphasis preferred). 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in related field.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suit, AutoCAD, and RISA 2D/3D or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of area specialization.
  • Ability to provide guidance, training, and support professional staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with USA design standards, AISC LRFD Specification, AISI Specification, RMI Specification for Design, Testing & Utilization, FEM 9.831/9.832 codes, and design in seismic areas.
