Our client, a highly recognized food manufacturer, currently interviewing qualified candidates to join their Supply Chain department.
The Senior Buyer will be identifying materials and working with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery and packaging in support production schedules. This includes development of strong supplier relationships, working closely continuous improvement personnel and implementing cost saving initiatives.
Duties include initiating purchase orders for components, ingredients, services, and supplies. This person will be sourcing ingredients and analyzing quotations, negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers, and recommending additional vendors. This individual will monitor and report on supplier performance with respect to on-time delivery and quality. Other tasks involve participating in daily scheduling and operations meetings, evaluating planning elements (e.g. lead-time, safety stock, days’ supply) for components and ingredients, and adhering to all food safety and SQF requirements.
