Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our client’s team in Madison, Wisconsin. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing department and work closely with Commissioning Department Co-Leads to develop, implement, and coordinate quality assurance-based processes to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the overall Commissioning Plan, including owner’s project requirements, basis of design documents, test reports, operations and maintenance documentation, owner training, and warranties.
  • Facilitate the usage of required checklists or verification forms for compliance of proper installation for accessibility and maintenance.
  • Author, schedule, and witness functional test documents meeting project rigor.
  • Review systems submittals and observe construction progress for compliance with contract documents.
  • Conduct construction site visits and assist with System Start-Up and Testing as needed.
  • Ensure systems training occurs as required and arrange further training as needed.
  • Review as-built drawings for accuracy with respect to installed systems.
  • Provide ongoing commissioning activities to maintain system performance, developing a database for problem diagnosis.
  • Review technical problems and procedures, working with the commissioning team to develop system modifications and resolve problems post-construction.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects and recommend system acceptance to owner.
  • Understand project financials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred.
  • Ten or more years of experience in design, installation, and/or installation of healthcare, laboratory, commercial, educational, municipal, and industrial projects, or construction engineering preferred.
  • Understanding of financial reports and client management experience.
  • Intermediate/advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and planning abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet schedule deadlines.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
