Our client, a prominent municipal department in Milwaukee, is actively seeking a qualified individual for the role of RAP Housing Specialist Lease and Contract Lead. This position plays a vital role in providing housing assistance to the public, involving tasks such as executing rental contracts and/or leases, providing assistance to applicants, staff, and others, and reviewing eligibility for housing programs.
Responsibilities:
- Execute rental contracts and/or leases conducting research on rental rates, preparing rent increases, negotiating rent amounts with property agents, obtaining proper signatures for contracts or leases, monitoring compliance, processing lease approval requests, and related tasks.
- Provide assistance to applicants, staff, and others by explaining program eligibility requirements, resolving program application issues, guiding staff in program tasks, assisting property owners in interpreting rental contracts, and providing information on program rules and regulations.
- Negotiate rent and execute leases and contracts.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to interpret rental contracts and conduct negotiations.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills; organizational skills, attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills.
Salary Range: $20-23/hr.
